Step 1 -Thoroughly dry the affected area by soaking up any liquid with a wet/dry vacuum. After vacuuming, use a clean towel, to absorb any liquid the vacuum didn't remove. Finally, use a hair dryer to dry the area completely.
If your floor mats are the source of the odor, remove the mats from the car and lay them out in the sun for a few days if the weather permits.
Step 2- Sprinkle baking soda over the affected areas. Working the baking soda into the rugs (if they are the affected area) with your hands. Leave the baking soda sit at least overnight and then vacuum.
If the odor remains, you will need to use an enzyme cleaner according to directions to clean the affected area(s).
Step 3 - Clean air conditioner vents with a cotton swab dipped in window cleaner. If you still smell mildew in your air conditioning system, try running the heater full-blast for 10 minutes to dry it out, leaving the windows open. If running the heater does not completely remove the odor, spray an enzyme cleaner into the fresh air intake and run the heater as directed above.
Step 4 - Place a Refresh your Car
scented gel underneath the seats to maintain a clean fresh scent.
